Dr Sarah Forbes

Role: Leeds Place Medical Director

Dr Sarah Forbes grew up in Leeds, before studying medicine at Newcastle University.  She returned to Leeds in 2004 to work as a Doctor, working across Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Airedale General Hospital and York Hospital, along with community placements in St Gemma’s and Wheatfields Hospices. After qualifying as a GP in 2012, she took up her role at Oakwood Lane Medical Practice in Seacroft, Leeds.

Sarah was an Executive GP at Leeds North Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) for over 2 years and was Cancer Lead before being appointed as Associate Medical Director at NHS Leeds CCG, subsequently going on to become Medical Director for the Integrated Care Board (ICB) in Leeds.

Following successful completion of the Institute of Leadership and Management ILM-5 diploma in coaching and mentoring, Sarah continues to coach people within the Leeds system.

Sarah is passionate about system working, bringing people together and making connections to create seamless healthcare for the citizens of Leeds.  She does this alongside juggling her family, horses and dog.
