Caroline Baria

Role: Partner Member – Local Authority – Adults and Social Care

Caroline is the Director of Adults and Health at Leeds City Council having stepped into the role of Interim Director in February 2023.  Prior to this, Caroline was the Deputy Director, Integrated Commissioning, a jointly funded post between Leeds City Council and the NHS WY ICB (Leeds Place).

Caroline qualified as Social Worker in 1992, working at Nottinghamshire County Council initially in children’s social care and youth offending services and then moving into adults services, including as Service Director for over 9 years.

She is passionate about promoting equality of opportunity and access to continuous learning and development for the wider care and health workforce.

Caroline is a Trustee of the Association of Directors of Social Services (ADASS) and leads on promoting professional social work practice.
