An engagement for patients registered at Sunfield Medical Centre or Hillfoot Surgery to share their feedback on proposed changes at the services.

Brief description of project

Sunfield Medical Centre and Hillfoot Surgery had jointly submitted a proposal to the Integrated Care Board (ICB) in Leeds, formally known as the NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), to engage with the registered patient populations of both their practices about closing Sunfield Medical Centre permanently on the 31 March 2023 and transferring the registered patient’s list to Hillfoot Surgery.

The Integrated Care Board in Leeds is responsible for planning and funding most of your local healthcare services and has agreed for this engagement to take place. They provided support to both of the practices to ensure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to have their say.

Who did we speak to?

Both Sunfield Medical Centre or Hillfoot Surgery wanted to hear from patients, and relatives, friends, or carers of patients registered.

What and how did we ask?

We wanted to know from people what is important to them when accessing primary care services as well as how they collect their medication and thoughts they have on the proposals to close Sunfield Medical Centre and transfer patients to Hillfoot Surgery.

People can fedback using an online survey, paper survey, attending one of three focus groups, or by contacting the practices directly. The practices are wrote to each household of registered patients with full details about this proposal and a survey to provide feedback.

What are we doing?

We will analyse your responses and use them to help ensure that concerns raised by patients are addressed wherever possible. We will also use the feedback to help plan, commission, and provide future services and care for people living in Leeds..
