Dr Sara Munro
Role: Partner Member - Leeds & York Partnership Foundation Trust
Sara is a member of the Leeds Committee of the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and has been Chief Executive of Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) since September 2016. In addition to her role as the Senior Responsible Officer for Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism within the West Yorkshire and Harrogate ICS, she is the executive lead on workforce for the health and care partners in Leeds. She is also a Trustee of the Workforce Development Trust.
Sara began her career in the NHS as a student nurse and agency nursing assistant. She is a registered mental health nurse, with clinical experience gained from working in inpatient mental health settings.
In addition to working across a range of NHS mental health providers in the North West of England, Sara has also completed a PhD examining attitudes of acute mental health nurses and their impact on service users’ experience of care. Prior to working at LYPFT, she was Director of Quality and Nursing/Deputy CEO in Cumbria.
Nationally, Sara is a board member of the Positive Practice Collaborative.
Sara is passionate about the needs of service users, carers, local communities and staff and about ensuring their voices are heard in the decisions made about services.
